Local Places That Have Free Bibles

15. Your Local Church

Some local churches can either give a pocket-size or even large study type Bible. It won’t hurt to drop by their door and ask them if they have one. If they do, I’m sure, they will be more than willing to give one for you.

16. The City Library

Your local library may have several copies of the Bible for you to read. While you may not be able to take one home and keep it, you may still be able to borrow it overnight but this will also depend on the rules of your city library.

Of course, you can freely ask the librarian if they have an available copy that you can keep or they can give in exchange for a little donation.

17. A Friend or Family Member

If you have a friend or relative who is a Christian, there’s a high chance that they have an extra copy that they would be more than willing to give to you. Don’t be shy to ask them about it.

18. Book Section of Your Local Thrift Store

You may not be able to score a free Bible at your local thrift store, but most probably, you can find one at a very good price. Or perhaps, you can befriend the owner so you can ask for a free Bible or you can ask the owner if you can trade one of your books for a Bible.

Of course, taking the Bible without asking permission from the hotel is really off. So, even if the Bible was only given to them as a donation, you may want to ask the hotel personnel or the front desk if you can have the Bible so that they can request Gideons International for a replacement.

The Bottom Line

There are several ways to get a free Bible these days. You can download a mobile app, read it via the web, download a soft copy of the Bible, or request a Bible by mail. But at the end of the day, you must devote time to read a verse or book of the Bible every day, so you can get the most out of it.
