I realize that not everyone can afford a monthly subscription just to listen to a story. That’s why I rounded up the following 11 sites that offer free audiobooks for kids.

You can get them building healthy habits and it won’t cost you any money to get started.

This list starts with 7 websites where you can find free audiobooks for kids, and directly below that are 4 more apps that you can download audiobooks from directly.

1. Audible Stories

Explore, select, and listen – that’s it! With Audible Stories, listening to audiobooks has never been that easy. You and your children can access all the audio stories for kids anytime and anywhere you like; may it be on your desktop, phone, or tablet.  

To begin, simply click the “Start Listening” button, and you will be directed to the discovery page where you can see all the available categories. Choose “Elementary,” and you can finally start to pick your choice of an audiobook for your kids, or they can easily do so by themselves. 

If you will have a hard time choosing, you might as well begin with “Gingerella” or with “The Ant and the Butterfly.

While Audible typically requires a monthly subscription, you can find all these stories for free.

2. Librivox

Librivox is a haven for public domain audiobooks that are read by volunteers from all over the world. Perhaps you or your kids would like to volunteer, and have the chance to be listened to by the site’s visitors worldwide? If you are not ready, then, go ahead and just let your kids enjoy the vast selection of children’s audiobooks from their catalog.
